Beth and Frank roll up to this ranch resort to patch shit up for their second anniversary. Everything feels fucked lately, so some privacy should hit the spot—except no one’s here. Staff? Guests? Ghosts, apparently. They split up and hunt around outside, totally missing the eyes tracking them through the bushes. They meet back empty-handed. Frank shrugs and decides they’ll crash anyway. Beth’s still uneasy, but the room’s clean and the door locks, so whatever. Then the door clicks open and in walks Tommy with his wife Olivia. They’re stranded too—car shit out on the road, pushed the wreck here hoping for help. Only help they got was crickets. Two couples, alone on a ghost ranch. Temporary comfort, at least. Frank offers to check the engine and leaves with Olivia. Beth and Tommy stay back, trading small talk that slowly turns stale while the other two stay gone way too long. Worry wins. They head out to find them. Halfway down the dirt road, they spot Frank’s silhouette in the driver’s seat—and Olivia’s head bobbing in his lap. Beth’s chest cracks. She storms back to the room, slamming the door like she wants it to shatter. Tommy finds her pacing. Tears on the way. She snaps: that rough patch wasn’t rough—it was Frank sticking his dick where it didn’t belong, then swearing never again. Well, never lasted a weekend. Tommy looks gut-punched for her, then growls that he’d love to serve them both the same dish they’re eating. Something lights behind Beth’s eyes. Revenge tastes filthy here, surrounded by silence and God-knows-what, but right now the idea burns too good to ignore.
